Exodus 2:11-15

Good morning, y'all!

Exodus 2:11-15
Now it came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown, that he went out to his brethren and looked at their burdens. And he saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his brethren. So he looked this way and that way, and when he saw no one, he killed the Egyptian and hid him in the sand. And when he went out the second day, behold, two Hebrew men were fighting, and he said to the one who did the wrong, “Why are you striking your companion?”
Then he said, “Who made you a prince and a judge over us? Do you intend to kill me as you killed the Egyptian?”
So Moses feared and said, “Surely this thing is known!” When Pharaoh heard of this matter, he sought to kill Moses. But Moses fled from the face of Pharaoh and dwelt in the land of Midian; and he sat down by a well.

You know the rest of the story--Moses meets Jethro's seven daughters at the well, marries Zipporah, settles into the life of a shepherd. While he's watching the sheep one day, God shows up in a burning bush and calls him back to Egypt to lead the people to the Promised Land.
When Moses tried to take matters into his own hands by killing the Egyptian, he was absolutely wrong. The end does not justify the means. However, God--in His own amazing way--worked even through Moses’ sin to land him right where He wanted him. That, really, is the whole story of Moses’ life: God working His perfect plan, in His perfect way and with perfect timing, through imperfect people. How encouraging that is!

Father, I'm so glad that You work through broken, messed up vessels to accomplish Your will! If You could only use perfect people, I'd be in trouble...help me to follow You in Your perfect way, trusting Your perfect timing!

May the Lord bless you richly as He works His perfect plan in your life!
